May God help us! We wouldn’t be in this mess if we had been true to the Constitution. The Founding Fathers are no doubt furious with us for trashing that Godly-inspired document. The founders rightly declared that our rights come from God and that government is established to secure and protect those rights against enemies domestic and foreign. Even George Washington declared that morality and religion were the two “indispensable supports” to the success and longevity of freedom.
The founders told us not to trust our elected representatives but to “bind them with the chains of the Constitution.” May God help us if we do not stand up and demand a re-enthronement of the principles of the Constitution.
A most powerful concept is that the power of the federal government is limited and defined. The Chief Executive has 6 areas of responsibility (Article II:2,3); the Congress has 20 powers (Article I:8); and the federal courts may hear 11 kinds of cases (Article III:2). Do you think they have overstepped their bounds?
A look at today’s issues clearly reveals that those in government have moved us so carefully away from the original intent of the founders. They have created for themselves excessive power, have stripped us of our rights and freedoms, and have changed our Constitutional Republic into a Socialist or Fascist welfare state. Isn’t it up to the good people of this country to clean our house and fervently lay claim to the heritage of the Constitution? ★ ★ ★ ★
