Dave Golembewski who are you? Born in Michigan, 56 years old, Payson resident for 13 years, Father of 5 kids, 2 Grandkids, Married to Claire for 26 years.
Are you content with your life? Yes, Have completed my bucket list except to be on Town Council
What has been your biggest accomplishment so far in life? Raising my kids and grandkids.
Dave Golembewski continued…What businesses, boards, committees, sub-committees, charters, commissions, non-profits, foundations, political or elected position have you been/or are you a part of? Volunteer P.D., Parks and Recreation Board, Firewise Committee, Volunteer at the Warming Center, and have had a small landscaping business for 35 years.
Why are you running for Town Council? Want to do my civil service for town by running for Town Council to represent the people.
Have you run for or held this or another office before? Yes, I ran in 2018 and received 1777 votes and thank you to my supporters and hope to represent them again.
What is it you would like voter to know about you? Voters should know I am for the People, and I am the people.
What makes you the best candidate? I am the best candidate because my special interests are the people.
What is your #1 goal while in office? I want to lower the sales tax and cut the food tax.
What would you do differently than current officials? Firewise the town, set a budget with salary caps on 100k+ salaries, build a new pool and recreation center, set a $15 minimum wage for town employees, bring the people together with a good economy.
Do you see the benefit in the Town being a part of the SLE? No, I represent real people not special interests.
Payson sells water to the county clubs at a loss to the town for 50 years, what would you do about it? Start charging them the same rate as the rest of the Town does.
Do you want Payson to grow? Yes
If so, how and where do you think growing would most benefit Payson? I want Payson to grow with amenities for all ages, and businesses to grow and prosper with the town.
What is our responsibility for community sustainability in Payson? More clean energy production, and we need a Biomass incinerator at brush pit.
Would you support more regulation or more enforcement? More enforcement.
Would you support partnerships with state and federal agencies or local town and county collaborations? Yes, work with State and Federal levels to pull in grants for the Town.
Are we doing enough clean energy production or can we do more? I believe the town should promote clean energy.
Would you support more small businesses or more chain franchises? I would support more small businesses.
Would you support better education or more education? I support better education.
Do you think there should be an ethics committee to govern Town employees and officials and hold them accountable for their actions? Yes, we need an Ethics Committee to review policy.
